Dear Colleagues
My name is Nkhensani Maluleke. As I develop this site I study at George Washington University in a Reading and Literacy Master program. I worked as a teacher in High school for 2 years before I made a decision to further my studies.
From experience, I know how frustrating it is to see your learners struggle and not know how to help them. I created this site so we can share our daily challenges, fears and successes. So that we can give each other support to help our learners.
I believe that reading is a skill that all people need to succeed in all they put their minds to. I also believe that we can make a difference in the next generations by giving them reading instruction that will shape them into productive citizens of the world, and most important, great citizens of our country.
Even though this site is not even close to being qualified as a 'good' site, but it is still an attempt to and an effort to start 'talks' amongst language teachers, which I believe is a good start to bringing change.
I am hoping that as this site grows, it will make all who participate aware of their classroom practices and outcomes there after, so that we can develop new approaches to classroom practice to improve instruction and learner reading levels.
LEARN TO READ, LEARN TO WRITE... LIVE!!!
